Empathy is all about being seen and heard, knowing that our feelings are valld, and that what we're going through is a normal human experience. As a deep, patient, attentive listener, I'm here to witness your stories, reflect them back to you in powerful new ways, and support you in seeing the pathways you haven't considered before.
Many illnesses arise from stress, and so do many life challenges and internal blockages. Stress itself can be seen as the language of the nervous system, so if you learn how stress works, and learn how your nervous system works, then you'll have powerful new tools for navigating any obstacle life throws at you.
One way of working together is talking, and it can be powerful. Another way is through embodiment: sensing, tracking, and getting curious about what you feel, learning what comfort and discomfort feel like, and releasing stored trauma. Therapy can be a lot more effective when talk is combined with somatic work, so I use them both.
Just like the trees and mycelium in a forest, the issues below are all connected. No single challenge can be completely separated from the rest. However, we can use the following list as a starting point, a place to figure out a focus. And, we can always shift gears as we go along.
To me, stress is this sort of silent plague that affects us on every level, but we don't often realize it. I can help walk you through the steps to recognize your stress, understand it, and gradually get a better handle on it.
I suffered long bouts of depression, and nothing seemed to work. It took the combination of a number of different approaches to get to a point where I stay level for long periods of time, and the drops aren't as long. I've gathered a wide range of tools and approaches I'd love to share with you.

As a boy who never fit in with other boys, and a man who doesn't fit the typical male stereotype, I've worked hard to escape the societal concept of what a man is supposed to be, and I've arrived at my own happy, healthy version of life as a man. After working with teen boys for years, and leading a men's group for the past three years, I'd love to walk alongside you on your own journey. Let's figure out how you can be the person you want to be in a culture that leads so many men astray.
As we address any or all of the above, some of the methods and modalities we might draw from include: Attachment Theory, Polyvagal Theory, nervous system science (regulation/dysregulation), somatics-influenced tools, Narrative Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, and NeuroAffective Relational Model (NARM). I have also supported clients through addiction and recovery, boundaries and consent, apology and making amends, overwhelm, shyness, and more.
